The Department of Computer Science was established with the establishment of the College of Science for Girls in 2002-2003. The Department of Computer Science at the College of Science for Girls aims to graduate a constellation of scientifically qualified students to participate in the development and raising the level of the concept of computer science and familiarity with all computer fields that serve the community in addition to qualifying them to complete postgraduate studies to obtain a master’s degree and doctorate in various branches of computer science, as it represents the basic science for other sciences and has the greatest impact on its concept and scientific applications. One of the important applications is the branch of artificial intelligence, where it is expected that after fifty years from now, the use of robots in most areas of daily life is expected from services at the level of administration, health, industry, construction, construction, transportation and others. The Department of Computer Science at the College of Science for Girls – University of Baghdad is one of the distinguished departments among other computer science departments in other Iraqi universities, where it was found that the graduates of the department from the initial study after their admission to graduate studies in other computer science departments inside and outside the University of Baghdad get the first places in terms of average.

As well as building the leadership personality by developing the capabilities and skills necessary to meet the challenges of rapid development in life.
