dissertation aims to:
- Prepare nano composite of TiO2: CdS thin films NS using the sol-gel technique and dipping method on glass substrates and study their structural, surface morphology, and optical properties.
- Prepare nano composite of CdS: TiO2 Thin films NS on glass substrates for photocatalytic purposes to remove methyl red and blue dyes from water.
- Deposit gold as island- like on the surfaces of the two prepared films using plasma sputtering and study its effect on the efficiency of the photocatalytic process.
dissertation also includes the synthesis and characterization of Au/TiO2:CdS and Au/CdS:TiO2 nano composite thin films for photocatalytic applications. The structural, morphological, chemical and optical properties of the nanoparticles were studied using several examinations (XRD, AFM, FE-SEM, EDX, RS, UV-VIS).
