Thesis Discussion
College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled (Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Decorated ZnO Nanorod Arrays for Gas Sensor Applications).
For the student: Sarah Rafid Abbas.
The aim of the thesis is to prepare a simple, low-cost, and environmentally friendly nanomaterial for use as gas sensors at room temperature.
The most important recommendations which the study has come up with and the average obtained.
The preparation of ZnO nanorods coated with ZnO nanoparticles demonstrated that the sensor had room-temperature sensitivity. Consequently, the main conclusion of this study indicates that hydrothermally prepared ZnO nanorods coated with ZnO nanoparticles can be used as gas sensors at room temperature.
The study recommended evaluating the cytotoxicity of the isolated phenolic and flavonoid compounds from both Equisetum species on cancer cell lines using various techniques. It also encouraged the use of more advanced methods for purification and characterization. Furthermore, the study called for expanding the research to include other Equisetum species and investigating their effects against a broader range of bacterial strains and fungal species, including dermatophytes.
