The University of Baghdad has achieved a new academic distinction by ranking first among Iraqi universities in the classification issued by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which assesses universities’ performance in achieving the strategic objective of higher education within the framework of the National Strategy for Education and Teaching (2022–2031).
The classification results placed the University of Baghdad in first place among the participating Iraqi universities, based on a set of key indicators encompassing internal efficiency; scientific research and innovation; quality and academic accreditation; governance of higher education institutions; as well as external efficiency and the extent to which educational outcomes are aligned with the requirements of national development and the labor market.
This achievement reflects the success of the University of Baghdad in implementing its strategic plans and development programs aimed at enhancing the quality of education and scientific research, fostering an environment of innovation, and strengthening institutional governance. These efforts are consistent with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the national strategic objectives for education and teaching.
