The President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Atiya Al-Zughaibi, chaired the regular meeting of the Council of the Electronic Computing Center during his visit to the Center. The meeting focused on discussing ways to enhance the Center’s performance, address technical challenges, and meet the requirements of comprehensive digital transformation across various sectors of the university.
The meeting featured the active participation of the Head of the Department of Computer Science at the College of Science for Women, Dr. Mukhtar Mohammed Hassan Al-Waeli. A number of proposals submitted by him were discussed in a positive and interactive atmosphere, resulting in the adoption of several proposals in accordance with the applicable regulations and legislation.
Among the key proposals was the development of a unified framework for integrating and analyzing ministerial software systems within a single software platform that would contribute to improving services for students and faculty members. The meeting also emphasized the importance of integrating the Electronic Computing Center’s software systems with the Ministry’s systems in order to prevent duplication or incompatibility and enhance the efficiency of the university’s digital infrastructure.
A mechanism was also proposed for developing the technical workforce by leveraging the capabilities and expertise of female graduates of the department, thereby contributing to a qualitative impact on the university’s digital transformation journey, alongside a number of other proposals.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the University emphasized the need to initiate practical and tangible steps, beginning with establishing direct network connectivity among all university formations and communicating with the relevant authorities to commence implementation. This initiative is aligned with the university’s efforts to develop its digital infrastructure and strengthen the scientific standing and leadership of the University of Baghdad among Iraqi universities.
