Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Mathematics, organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Five Most Important Mathematical Equations That Changed Our Understanding of the World.” The workshop was presented by Ms. Fatima Ahmed Shihab, Ms. Huda Imad Al-Din Jameel, and Ms. Zahraa Amouri Ali.

The workshop provided a scientific overview of several prominent mathematical equations that have contributed to fundamental transformations in humanity’s understanding of the universe and nature. Particular attention was given to fundamental equations from various fields, including physics and applied mathematics, such as equations of motion, the equations of relativity, and the equations of electromagnetism, in addition to equations used to describe natural phenomena and dynamic systems. The scientific foundations of each equation, the historical context in which it emerged, and its significant impact on scientific and technological development were also explained.

The workshop further addressed the practical applications of these equations in modern life, including their use in engineering, telecommunications, medicine, and space technologies.

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of developing the skills of students and researchers in the field of mathematics and its applications, highlighting their essential role in supporting scientific research and enhancing the quality of academic studies.
