Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Physics at the College of Science for Women, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Organic Photovoltage: Synthesis and Application.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Hind Fadhil Alaiwi, Dr. Nada Khudair Abbas, and Dr. Anwar Ali Baqir. The workshop addressed the scientific foundations of organic photovoltage and the mechanisms underlying its generation in organic materials, in addition to reviewing the synthesis methods of materials used in this field.
The workshop also examined the practical applications of these materials in modern technologies, particularly in organic solar cells and photodetectors. It highlighted their advantages in terms of low cost, flexibility, and ease of fabrication compared with conventional materials. The lecturers also discussed the challenges facing this field, including the need to improve efficiency and stability, and reviewed the latest research trends aimed at enhancing the performance of these systems.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of developing the skills of students and researchers in applied physics and renewable energy technologies, as well as highlighting their role in supporting scientific research and enhancing the quality of scientific studies.
