Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Understanding Logic Gates and Truth Tables in Digital Electronics.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Mervat Kadhim Rahima, Ms. Mervat Dawood Majeed, and Ms. Mona Mahdi Saleh.

The workshop introduced the fundamental concepts of digital electronics, with particular emphasis on logic gates as the basic building blocks of digital circuits. It examined the main types of logic gates, including AND, OR, and NOT, and explained the operating principles of each. The workshop also demonstrated how truth tables are constructed to represent the behavior and output of these gates under different input conditions.

The workshop further included practical applications that connected these concepts to modern electronic systems and highlighted their role in designing digital circuits used in computers and smart devices. These applications contributed to strengthening students’ theoretical and practical understanding and developing their skills in this important field.

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of developing the skills of students and researchers in the field of digital electronics and highlighting its role in supporting scientific research and enhancing the quality of scientific studies.
