Objectives of the Thesis

- To quantify HDDC3 levels and compare between groups.
- To conduct serum metabolomic profiling to detect metabolic differences related to T2DM.
- To identify the relationship between HDDC3 and other studied parameters.
- To evaluate the diagnostic value and clinical utility of HDDC3 for the early detection and diagnosis of T2DM Using several statistical tests.

Other parameters, such as FBS and lipid profile, were also measured in both the patient group and the healthy group.
Content of the Thesis
- The study was conducted at the University of Baghdad, College of Science for Women, Department of Chemistry, and Yarmouk Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, from September to October 2025. HDDC3 levels were measured using ELISA with a Human Reader HS instrument, while TOS, TAS, and IMA assays were performed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Pentosine and sorbitol assays were performed using HPLC.
Recommendation of the Thesis
- Further studies are recommended to investigate the role of HDDC3 in the development of type 2 diabetes.
- HDDC3 levels should be assessed in patients with type 1 diabetes to determine its clinical significance.
- HDDC3 gene expression should be investigated in patients with type 2 diabetes.
- The current study should be expanded using a larger sample size to confirm the diagnostic value of HDDC3 in diabetes.
