Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Prof. Dr. Samira Naji Kazem, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, in cooperation with the Computer Science Department, organized an introductory seminar for first-year female students. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Safaa Sami Abdul-Jabbar, Head of the Unit, and was held in the Smart Hall.

The seminar began with a welcoming speech delivered by Dr. Safaa Sami, in which she expressed her best wishes to the students for a successful and outstanding academic year. She emphasized the Deanship’s commitment to supporting female students academically and skill-wise, and to preparing qualified female cadres capable of keeping pace with labor market requirements and actively contributing to building the future.

The seminar addressed the objectives of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit and its future vision, which aims to provide awareness and knowledge support to students through organizing workshops and specialized training courses designed to develop both soft and hard skills. This contributes to enhancing students’ competencies and empowering them to integrate into the labor market after graduation.

The seminar also highlighted the Unit’s role in coordinating with official bodies in both the public and private sectors, opening avenues of cooperation to provide training and employment opportunities for graduates, as well as guiding students toward early career planning and developing their personal capabilities.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the floor was opened for students’ questions and inquiries, which were actively discussed and answered. Emphasis was placed on the importance of benefiting from the programs and activities offered by the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit due to their positive impact on shaping students’ academic and professional development.
