Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Physics, organized a workshop entitled “The Use of Sensors in Various Fields.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Ashwaq Tariq Dahham, Dr. Atheer Qasim Mryoush, and Mr. Mohammed Ayal Hazzaa.
The workshop addressed the concept of sensors and their significance in converting surrounding physical phenomena into electronic signals that can be processed. It also explored their various types and classifications, including active and passive sensors, as well as analog and digital sensors. In addition, it highlighted their key applications in measuring temperature, light, humidity, distance, acceleration, radiation, and other physical quantities.
The workshop further presented examples of sensor applications in modern devices and technologies, emphasizing their role in improving measurement accuracy and enhancing the efficiency of electronic systems. It also highlighted their importance in advancing scientific and industrial applications and keeping pace with technological developments.
The workshop concluded by reaffirming the importance of sensors in keeping pace with technological advancements and expanding their applications across scientific, industrial, and everyday fields, given their significant contribution to the development and enhanced efficiency of modern technologies.
