In the presence of Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the College of Science for Women – University of Baghdad demonstrated a distinguished scientific and artistic presence at the Tenth International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, organized by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Husayni Shrine under the theme “The Arbaeen Pilgrimage: An Embodiment of Spiritual Values and Scientific Advancement.” The conference witnessed broad participation from a distinguished group of academics and researchers representing various universities and scientific institutions.

The College participated by presenting ten high-quality scientific research papers prepared by a number of its faculty members and researchers. The papers addressed a range of intellectual and scholarly themes related to the Arbaeen pilgrimage and its cultural and humanitarian dimensions, within an academic framework that reflects the quality of research at the College and its commitment to addressing issues of scientific and intellectual significance.

The College also distinguished itself through a notable artistic contribution, featuring seventeen artworks that portrayed cultural and spiritual themes inspired by the pilgrimage. The exhibition highlighted the creative talents of the College’s personnel as part of the conference’s activities.

A number of the College’s faculty members also played an active role in managing the scientific sessions by serving as session chairs and rapporteurs for several sessions devoted to the presentation and discussion of research papers. Their participation reflects the College’s academic standing and influential scholarly presence, in addition to their contribution to enriching scientific discussions and facilitating the exchange of expertise among participating researchers.

The conference concluded after two days of specialized scientific sessions, featuring the presentation and discussion of research and studies, alongside cultural and artistic activities. These activities contributed to achieving the objectives of the conference and highlighting the Arbaeen pilgrimage as a cultural and humanitarian phenomenon with evolving intellectual and cultural dimensions.
