Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a workshop titled “Positive Parenting and Drug Abuse Prevention Among Youth.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Sulaf Abdul Khodair and Dr. Sahar Abdul Khodair.
The workshop addressed the different types of drugs, their production methods, and the harmful effects they have on health, society, and the economy. It also discussed possible solutions and interventions, emphasizing the role of families in guiding youth and promoting a safe family environment, as well as the importance of community support in providing psychological and educational assistance.
Additionally, the workshop reviewed the role of the state in reducing drug abuse through the enactment of deterrent laws and regulations, as well as providing rehabilitation and treatment programs for addicts. At the conclusion of the session, the importance of continuous awareness through media, as well as organizing workshops and seminars to raise community awareness about the risks of drugs and preventive measures, was highlighted.
