Under the patronage of Dr. Sameera Naji Kahdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit organized a workshop titled “Prevention of Suicide through Media and Legal Means,” presented by Dr. Abbas Hadi Abd Ali in the conference hall.
During the workshop, which was attended by a number of faculty members and students from the college’s scientific departments, the discussion focused on the causes of suicide, including economic and social factors, as well as issues individuals face that can lead to suicide, such as being subjected to blackmail. The workshop also highlighted the importance of exercising caution when using social media platforms, as they may be used by some to lure young people, especially female students, into online blackmail traps.
