Under the patronage of Dr. Sameera Naji Kahdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, held a workshop titled “Public Job Laws: Discipline of State Employees.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Adel Hussein Talib, and Dr. Salah Khairi Jabir.
The objective of the activity was to familiarize attendees with the duties of employees according to the Law of Discipline for State Employees and the Public Sector No. 14 of 1991 (amended), as well as how to interact with subordinates and colleagues. It emphasized the importance of working with dedication and responsibility, maintaining the dignity of the position, and ensuring the confidentiality of documents and information.
The workshop also addressed employees’ material and moral rights, promotions, and all types of leave. Additionally, it explained the penalties stipulated by law and their impact on allowances and promotions, as well as the guarantees provided by the law for employees in the event of an investigation. The session covered how employees can exercise their right to appeal against penalty decisions and outlined the correct legal procedures that management can take against employees who violate their duties
