College of science for women/University of Baghdad examined the thesis entitled (Synthesis and Characterization of
Ag\ AgO: Au Nanoparticles by (Laser, Plasma Jet) technique for Medical Applications) of the student Zainab Shaheed Kadhim
The thesis aims to Preparing nanomaterials (Ag\ AgO, Ag\ AgO: Au) NPs using (pulse laser ablation-plasma jet) system and (plasma jet-plasma jet) system and comparing the effects of each of them on cytotoxicity in vitro for two types of (normal, cancerous) cell lines. This is according to the following steps:
1. Synthesis of Nanoparticles.
2. Characterization of Nanoparticles.
3. Evaluation of physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials.
4. Medical application: Study the effect of these nanoparticles on the REF normal cell line and the MDA cancer cell line.
The thesis also includes silver nanoparticles were prepared individually and also as nanocomposites with gold nanoparticles in different ratios using two methods: the first is the pulsed laser and plasma jet method, and the second is the plasma jet method, where the silver nanoparticles were considered as the core and were wrapped with gold nanoparticles using the plasma jet technique. The structural properties of the nanomaterials were then studied using a set of tests (XRD, UV-VIS, FE-SEM, TEM).
The most important recommendations which the study has come up with and the average obtained.
1. Use an eco-friendly method in the preparation of gold and silver nanoparticles core/shell and employ it in the evaluation of antimicrobial effectiveness.
2. Using the (Pulsed Laser Ablation, Non-Thermal Plasma) technique to synthesize other elements such as zinc and silver and comparing it with the plasma method.
3. Use of prepared gold and silver particles in industrial applications as sensors or detectors (Pollutant Detection, Solar cell enhance the absorption, and Bio sensing).
