The Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, the Center for Educational and Psychological Research, and the Women’s Empowerment Department at the University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Mental Health and its Impact in the Work Environment.” The workshop was conducted by Dr. Fadel Shakir Hassan Al-Saadi, Ms. Sinaa Aboud Mustafa Al-Hammami, and Dr. Noor Al-Huda Ghazi. Its aim was to familiarise attendees with the concept of mental health, which encompasses physical, mental, and social well-being. Mental health is the outcome of the interplay between individual’s internal and external factors. The workshop emphasized that a united family is pivotal to an individual’s mental well-being. The workshop highlighted that potential negative factors on mental health include insecurity, severe overcrowding, noisy environments and high temperatures. Additionally, it emphasized that mental wellbeing can be improved through good social communication, continuous learning, healthy eating habits and regular exercise.
