The Department of Physics collaborated with the Continuing Education Unit to organise a scientific course on “Solar Energy Systems and Performance Enhancement.” The course was presented by Assistant Professor Samara Jasim Mohammed, Assistant Lecturer Doha Kareem Harfash, and Assistant Lecturer Shaimaa Ibrahim Mahmoud. Its aim was to introduce solar cell concepts and contemporary methods for utilising perovskite and organic solar cell panels. Recent research has led to advances in solar cell performance and the development of highly efficient systems. Concentrated solar energy systems have the potential for widespread energy generation and improved efficiency. It is important to factor in costs, maintenance, and geographic suitability when making decisions. A comprehensive understanding of solar tracking systems and the range of applications for solar energy arrays can refine the use and application of solar energy.
