Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Women’s Affairs Unit, as part of the University of Baghdad’s activity plan, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Enhancing the Status of Women Towards a Positive Culture and a More Stable Society.” The seminar was held in the College Conference Hall in the presence of a number of faculty members and staff.
The seminar was moderated by Dr. Hiba Khudair Abbas, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit. The sessions addressed by Dr. Shaimaa Saleh Mahdi, Head of the Department of Physics; Dr. Sulaf Abdul Khudair; and Dr. Sahar Abdul Khudair from the Department of Biology.
The seminar addressed the importance of enhancing the status of women and empowering them, supporting their active participation in scientific, professional, and social fields, as well as promoting a culture of respect and equal opportunities and addressing stereotypes and negative perceptions that may limit their role.
The seminar also emphasized the role of educational institutions in raising societal awareness and providing a supportive environment for women, thereby contributing to strengthening family and social stability. The event witnessed active engagement from attendees through questions and contributions, enriching the discussion on ways to enhance the status of women and build a more aware and stable society.
