The College of Science for Women held a memorial service in honor of the late Professor Dr. Kazem Khudhair Ghadheeb, a distinguished faculty member of the Department of Chemistry, who previously served as the College’s Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs for four years. Throughout his academic and administrative career, he made significant contributions to the College through his dedication, professionalism, and numerous scholarly and administrative achievements.
The memorial service was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Assistant Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, and a number of faculty and staff members, all of whom expressed their profound sorrow over the loss of an outstanding academic and respected colleague whose contributions had a lasting impact on the College and its academic community.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Dr. Abbas Murtadha of the Department of Life Sciences, followed by the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the deceased. Several faculty and staff members then delivered commemorative speeches in which they reflected on Professor Dr. Ghadheeb’s exemplary character, humanitarian values, and distinguished academic and administrative contributions. They also recalled the positive influence he had on his colleagues, students, and the broader university community.
The memorial gathering represented a sincere expression of appreciation and gratitude by the College Deanship and its members in recognition of the late professor’s distinguished career and his invaluable service to the institution. The ceremony concluded with prayers asking Almighty God to bestow His infinite mercy upon the deceased, grant him eternal peace in Paradise, and provide patience, comfort, and strength to his family, colleagues, and the entire academic community.
