Professor Dr. Maan Abdul Kadhim, a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at the College of Science for Women, participated as a member of the Master’s thesis examination committee for the graduate student Rawa Mohammed Jaf at Koya University. The thesis defense was held on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, as part of ongoing academic cooperation and scientific exchange between Iraqi universities.

The thesis, entitled “Numerical Solution of the Coupled Whitham–Broer–Kaup Shallow Water by Haar Wavelet Collocation Method,” focused on developing numerical solutions for the coupled Whitham–Broer–Kaup shallow water equations using the Haar Wavelet Collocation Method. This topic represents a contemporary area of research in applied mathematics and numerical analysis due to its significance in the mathematical modeling of physical and hydrodynamic phenomena.

The defense was attended by a distinguished audience of academics and researchers. The thesis demonstrated the application of advanced numerical techniques to solve complex mathematical systems and evaluated the efficiency, accuracy, and stability of the Haar Wavelet Collocation Method in producing reliable numerical solutions.

Professor Dr. Maan Abdul Kadhim’s participation in the examination committee reflects the active scientific and academic role of the Department of Mathematics’ faculty members and their commitment to strengthening academic collaboration and fostering scientific engagement with universities and higher education institutions. Such contributions promote the exchange of scholarly expertise and support the advancement of research and academic excellence.

This participation also highlights the distinguished academic standing of the College’s faculty members within scholarly communities and underscores their ongoing contribution to promoting scientific research and advancing graduate studies at both the national and regional levels.
