Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit at the College, in collaboration with the Information Technology Division, organized a training course entitled “A Guide to Finding Academic Sources Online.” The course was presented by Ms. Huda Qasim Hamza.
The training course focused on effective strategies for conducting scholarly searches in international academic databases and on methods for accessing high-quality, peer-reviewed research articles and scientific publications. It also introduced participants to the most prominent academic websites and digital research platforms, while providing guidance on evaluating the credibility and reliability of electronic sources and appropriately incorporating them into academic research and scholarly studies. The course was designed to enhance students’ and researchers’ skills in academic referencing, source evaluation, and scientific writing.
The course concluded by emphasizing the importance of developing students’ and researchers’ competencies in identifying and utilizing reliable academic sources, highlighting their essential role in supporting scientific research and improving the quality and credibility of academic studies.
