Department of Mathematical Sciences Organizes a Workshop on Standards for Writing Scientific Abstracts Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematical Sciences, organized a workshop entitled “Standards for Writing Research Abstracts and Master’s Thesis Abstracts.”
The workshop was presented by Dr. Jalal Hatem Hussein, Dr. Nagham Mousa Ni’mah, and Ms. Dhikra Abdul Latif Ibrahim.
The workshop aimed to highlight the essential scientific principles and standards required for preparing research and master’s thesis abstracts to ensure their acceptance in reputable academic journals and international conferences. It addressed the appropriate structure of a scientific abstract, emphasizing clarity, comprehensiveness, the research methodology employed, and the presentation of key findings. The workshop also discussed common errors in academic writing and provided practical guidance on avoiding them.
This workshop was organized in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, by enhancing researchers’ academic capabilities and strengthening their scientific research and innovation skills, thereby contributing to improving the quality of the university’s academic outputs.
