Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, organized a workshop entitled “Writing Mathematical Equations in a Simplified Manner Using Microsoft Word.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Tamadhur Arif Ibrahim, Dr. Zainab Anwar Ahmed, and Ms. Samah Mohammed Ali. The event was held in the Hospitality Hall and attended by a number of faculty members, administrative staff, and students of the College.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ skills in using Microsoft Word to write mathematical equations and symbols in a professional and simplified manner, thereby contributing to the improvement of the quality of scientific research and educational materials, particularly in disciplines that rely extensively on mathematical expressions and formulations.
The workshop included a detailed explanation of the tools available in Microsoft Word, with particular emphasis on the Equation Editor. Participants were introduced to methods for inserting mathematical symbols and equations using built-in templates as well as keyboard shortcuts and command-based techniques. The workshop also featured practical applications and hands-on exercises that demonstrated the process of creating and formatting mathematical equations effectively, ensuring that participants gained both theoretical understanding and practical experience.
The event witnessed active engagement and constructive interaction between the participants and the workshop facilitators, fostering a productive learning environment and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the training session.
