As part of the activities of the University Sustainability Week 2026, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, Assistant Professor Dr. Nadia Mohammed Jawad, a group of students from the Department of Computer Science at the College of Science for Women achieved a distinguished accomplishment by securing third place in the “Code for a Green Future” competition. The event was held at the College of Excellence, University of Baghdad.

This achievement was accomplished under the supervision of Dr. Safaa Sami Abdul-Jabbar, where the competition aimed to encourage students to develop innovative applications and software solutions that support environmental sustainability and promote the principles of sustainable development through the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence techniques.

The event included the recognition of winning projects, with awards presented to the top three positions. The College of Science for Women team received a certificate of appreciation in recognition of the supervisor’s and students’ efforts, as well as their outstanding software project, which, along with other participating projects, contributes to serving the community and promoting environmental protection.
