Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Chemistry, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Methods of Expressing Solution Concentrations.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Maha Kadhim Salman and Ms. Nargis Muhannad Habib.

The workshop provided a comprehensive explanation of the various units used to express solution concentrations, including molarity, molality, percentage concentration, and parts per million (ppm). It also featured practical applications in chemical laboratories, supported by precise numerical examples and calculation exercises designed to enhance participants’ understanding of these concepts.

Furthermore, the workshop emphasized the importance of accuracy and precision in concentration measurements and highlighted their critical role in scientific experiments, laboratory analyses, and research activities. Particular attention was given to the correct application of concentration units in experimental procedures to ensure reliable and reproducible results.

The workshop concluded by underscoring the importance of developing the skills of students and researchers in understanding and accurately applying solution concentration concepts in laboratory settings. It also highlighted the significant role of these competencies in supporting scientific research and improving the quality and reliability of scientific studies.
