Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Chemistry at the University of Baghdad, organized a scientific course entitled “Color Chemistry of Industrial Dyes.” The course was presented by Dr. Amal Sameer Sadiq, Ms. Wosan Abdulrazzaq, and Dr. Zainab Hussein Fadil.

The course aimed to introduce the fundamentals of industrial chemistry, including their physical and chemical properties, as well as the mechanisms of their synthesis and their applications across various industrial sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and food industries. It also addressed the classification of dyes according to their chemical structure and the nature of their interaction with different materials, in addition to highlighting the influence of environmental factors on color stability and quality.

Furthermore, the course included a detailed explanation of the most important modern techniques used in the preparation of dyes and the enhancement of their efficiency. Practical applications were presented to demonstrate how to select appropriate dyes according to specific industrial purposes, thereby strengthening the applied aspect of participants’ knowledge and developing their scientific and research skills in the field of industrial chemistry.

The course concluded by emphasizing the importance of advancing the skills of students and researchers in the field of industrial dye chemistry, given its significant role in supporting scientific research and improving the quality of industrial products.
