Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khidm, the Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific workshop entitled “Promoting a Culture of Respect for the Law as a Foundation for Societal Stability.” The workshop was presented by  Dr. Salah Khairy Jaber, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and  Dr. Adel Hassan Talib from the Department of Life Sciences.

The workshop aimed to enhance legal awareness among students and to instill the principles of respect for rules and regulations as a cornerstone for building a stable and cohesive society. It addressed several key themes, focusing on the role of law in regulating relationships among individuals and safeguarding rights and freedoms. It also emphasized the importance of adherence to legal norms in achieving social justice and reducing manifestations of disorder and negative behaviors.

Furthermore, the workshop presented practical examples from real-life societal contexts, illustrating the positive impact of respecting the law in achieving security and stability, as well as the adverse consequences resulting from its violation. It also highlighted the role of educational institutions, particularly universities, in disseminating legal culture and fostering a sense of responsibility among students through awareness programs and academic activities that contribute to preparing a conscious generation capable of participating in the development of a law-abiding society.

In addition, emphasis was placed on the importance of integration between individuals and institutions in reinforcing these values, thereby positively influencing societal development and stability. The workshop concluded by underscoring the significance of advancing legal awareness among students and researchers, given its vital role in supporting societal stability and promoting the values of good citizenship and respect for laws and regulations.
