Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khidm, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, organized a training course entitled “The Use of Data Mining Algorithms in Classification.” The course was presented by  Dr. Abboud Khuraibit Jassim,Mr. Zaid Sadiq Neama, and Ms. Suad Ali Ubaid.

The course aimed to highlight the importance of data mining as one of the most significant modern fields in big data analysis, as well as to demonstrate its role in extracting hidden knowledge and useful patterns that support decision-making processes.

It also provided a detailed explanation of classification algorithms and their mechanisms in categorizing data into specific classes based on their characteristics, along with a review of the most prominent models used in this field. Furthermore, the course included practical demonstrations of several modern methods and techniques for building accurate and efficient classification models.

In addition, it illustrated how these techniques can be applied across various domains such as education, medicine, and administration, thereby contributing to the development of participants’ skills and enhancing their capabilities in data analysis using advanced tools and technologies that keep pace with technological advancements.

The course concluded by emphasizing the importance of developing students’ and researchers’ skills in the fields of data mining and classification, given their vital role in supporting scientific research and improving the quality of academic studies.
