Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Computer Science, organized an awareness workshop entitled “Today’s Tree… Tomorrow’s Life: Plant Today for Future Generations to Live.” This initiative was part of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and fostering a culture of nature conservation among students and college staff.
The workshop addressed the importance of afforestation and its vital role in improving the environment, reducing pollution, and enhancing air quality. It also highlighted its contribution to achieving ecological balance and preserving natural resources for future generations. Furthermore, the workshop focused on promoting the culture of maintaining green spaces both within and outside the university campus, and demonstrated the role of trees in mitigating climate change and creating a healthy and sustainable environment.
Additionally, the workshop discussed the importance of student participation in environmental initiatives and volunteer activities associated with tree-planting campaigns, emphasizing their role in developing a sense of social responsibility and strengthening environmental awareness among youth.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of supporting environmental initiatives and encouraging students to actively contribute to afforestation campaigns and the preservation of green spaces, given their significant impact on building a healthy and sustainable environment for present and future generations.
