Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, organized a training course entitled “The Origin Graphing Program for Analyzing Various Data”. The course was presented by Dr. Hind Fadel Alawi, Ms. Nisreen Saadi Turki, and Mr. Haider Abdulzahra Abbas, in the presence of several faculty members, staff, and students, in the Abdul Hakim Hall on Monday, March 9, 2026.

The course aimed to highlight the significance of the Origin program as a specialized software tool for scientific data analysis and graphing. It is widely used by researchers and students in scientific disciplines such as physics, chemistry, engineering, and medical sciences. The program facilitates the creation of graphs and data analysis through statistical operations, curve fitting, and data organization, thereby contributing to the preparation of precise, publication-ready scientific figures. Additionally, it enables rapid and efficient analysis of experimental results, making it a reliable tool in numerous universities and research centers.

During the course, the instructors demonstrated the program’s interface after installation on the computer. They illustrated, through graph plotting, how to define axes and add additional ones. They also explained one of the program’s key features: its flexibility in handling various types of data files, including Excel files, which simplifies the import and export of data in different formats required by students and researchers. The course included practical applications conducted by the instructors to convey information clearly and maximize the benefit for attendees, who showed active engagement with the presented explanations.
