Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Physics, organized a scientific course entitled “Laser and Its Scientific and Industrial Applications.” The course was presented by Dr. Haider Yahya Hamoud, Head of the Department of Physics, and Ms. Shahd Dhafer Nasser. The course aimed to highlight laser technology and its significance in modern scientific and industrial fields.
The course included an introduction to the concept of laser, its working mechanism, and the physical properties that distinguish it from other light sources. It also reviewed its most prominent applications in various fields such as medicine, industry, communications, and precise scientific measurements. Furthermore, the course addressed the role of laser technologies in developing modern industries and improving the efficiency of industrial processes, in addition to explaining their use in scientific research and advanced laboratory experiments.
The course concluded by emphasizing the importance of familiarizing participants with modern technologies such as lasers and their diverse applications, as well as their role in supporting scientific and industrial development and enhancing the skills of students and researchers across different scientific disciplines.
