Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Scientific Affairs Division, in cooperation with the Department of Computer Science, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Introduction to Python Programming.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Noor Reda Abdulrazzaq.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of the Python programming language as one of the most widely used languages in modern programming. It covered core concepts such as variables and data types, conditional statements, loops, and functions, in addition to proper methods for writing and executing programs. The workshop also addressed the practical applications of Python in data analysis, artificial intelligence, and software development, presenting applied examples that helped consolidate practical understanding of theoretical concepts.
The workshop witnessed positive interaction from the students, with a strong emphasis on the practical component and opportunities for participants to write and execute simple programs. This approach contributes to the development of logical thinking and problem-solving skills and enhances confidence in working with programming environments.
The organization of this workshop aligns with the objectives of sustainable development, particularly Goal 4 related to quality education through the enhancement of digital skills and the improvement of technical education. It also supports Goal 9 concerning industry, innovation, and infrastructure by preparing qualified cadres capable of employing programming technologies across various fields. Overall, the workshop contributes to refining students’ skills and strengthening their capabilities in line with labor market requirements and technological advancement, while reinforcing the College’s role in community service and the building of a knowledge-based society.
