Medical physics laboratory for postgraduate studies

The Medical Physics Laboratory for postgraduate studies is concerned with conducting experiments related to physical phenomena and their medical applications in order to keep pace with scientific development in the field of medical physics. The importance of this laboratory lies in laying solid foundations for introducing future doctors to the principles of physical applications of human body functions and the devices used to calculate physical variables in the body for diagnosis, treatment and benefit from… Modern physical applications such as plasma, lasers and nanomaterials in biological and medical fields.

Thermodynamics laboratory

The Thermodynamics Laboratory for the second stage means introducing students to the various experiments related to thermodynamics and training them on how to deal with the devices, in addition to supporting the theoretical ideas they are studying. Developing students’ experimental skills and deepening the spirit of research and discovery. The student acquires information about the methods of transferring thermal energy, the effect of thermal energy on materials, and how to classify materials based on their ability to transfer thermal energy. Introducing the student to how to calculate the specific heat of a metal. Introducing the student to how to find the coefficient of longitudinal expansion of a metal. Introducing the student to how to calculate the value of the heat capacity of the calorimeter and knowing its characteristics. Introducing the student to how to determine the value of the thermo-mechanical equivalent (Joule equivalent) using the electrical method and based on the principle of energy conservation. Teaching students how to determine the thermal conductivity coefficient for poorly conductive materials and good conductive materials, and how to find the latent heat of fusion.

Materials laboratory

Materials Laboratory for Initial Studies/Third Year/Training female students to apply the concepts of solid materials and polymers, their practical application of hardness and diffraction tests, and introducing them to the alloy system in addition to other subjects. Identifying the properties of materials in terms of density and physical properties.

⇐  Mechanics laboratory

Mechanics Laboratory for Initial Studies / First Grade/ Providing female students with the practical basic concepts of the mechanics subject, such as the objectives of teaching the laboratory’s scientific subject in terms of scientific experiments and keeping up with scientific developments in the field of physics mechanics, which leads female students to possess the scientific ability to work in the scientific and functional fields.

Thin Film Laboratory/Graduate Studies

The Thin Film Laboratory for Postgraduate Studies aims to conduct research by postgraduate students (Masters and Ph.D.) to complete the study requirements and obtain the required certificate in the field of solid state physics.

⇐   Plasma laboratory
