The Human Rights Unit is a fundamental pillar in promoting the values of justice, integrity, tolerance, and respect for human dignity and rights within the college community. The Unit seeks to disseminate a culture of human rights awareness and enhance understanding of regulations, rights, and responsibilities among all college members, including faculty, administrative staff, and students. This contributes to creating a safe, sustainable, and inclusive educational environment free from all forms of discrimination and misconduct.

1. Awareness and Educational Activities
Promoting Human Rights Culture:
Organizing seminars, lectures, and workshops to enhance awareness among university members regarding their academic and professional rights and responsibilities.Introducing University Regulations:
Preparing and distributing guides and publications (both digital and printed) explaining university regulations, such as students’ rights and responsibilities, executive rules, and policies related to anti-bullying and anti-harassment.Awareness Campaigns:
Launching periodic campaigns to promote academic integrity, equality, and equal opportunities.2. Protection and Advisory Services
Receiving Complaints and Grievances:
Receiving complaints and inquiries from students or staff who believe they have been subjected to injustice or discrimination and handling such cases with complete confidentiality.Investigation and Review:
Examining complaints and grievances objectively and impartially, then submitting recommendations and reports to the College Dean’s Office or the relevant university authorities.Providing Guidance and Support:
Offering preliminary legal and academic consultations to the parties involved in disputes to facilitate amicable resolutions and safeguard rights before escalation.3. Promoting an Inclusive Environment and Monitoring Practices
Monitoring Practices:
Continuously monitoring the university environment to identify any practices or behaviors that may constitute violations of human rights, such as discrimination, bullying, or barriers affecting accessibility for persons with disabilities.Supporting Vulnerable Groups:
Ensuring that educational environments and facilities are adapted to meet the needs of students with disabilities and that they receive their full academic rights.Periodic Reporting:
Preparing annual or semi-annual reports for university administration, including statistics on achievements, challenges, and recommendations for enhancing the human rights environment within the university.
