Additionally, the workshop discussed the biological foundations that explain the changes in the body during fasting and how these changes affect metabolism, particularly with regard to energy transformations in cells and the use of fat as an energy source instead of carbohydrates. The role of hormones during fasting, such as insulin and growth hormones, and their effects on general health were also explored. The workshop covered the impact of fasting on blood sugar levels, blood pressure, mental health, and concentration, as well as its effects on cellular processes like stress and aging.
Furthermore, the workshop addressed the health benefits of fasting, including improvements in cardiovascular health and a reduction in the risk of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. It also discussed the potential risks of prolonged or irregular fasting on health. The workshop provided an opportunity to understand the effects of fasting on the body scientifically and enhanced knowledge on how to apply fasting in a healthy and safe manner.
