Under the sponsorship of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs Dr. Yousra Abdul-Sahib, presented a scientific workshop titled “Applications of Cloud Computing.”
The goal of the activity was to highlight the importance of cloud computing in the modern age and its significant role in improving performance and providing advanced technological solutions in various sectors.
The concept of cloud computing and its evolution were discussed, and the audience was introduced to several different models, including public, private, and hybrid clouds. Cloud computing has several advantages, such as cost savings, easy access to data and applications online from anywhere in the world, and the ability to scale resources as needed, contributing to the improvement of the performance of institutions and individuals.
Practical applications of cloud computing in various fields, such as education, healthcare, industry, and business, were also reviewed. In the field of education, the use of the cloud to store files and data, provide interactive online learning environments, offer secure and flexible storage systems, and analyze big data for decision-making was highlighted.
Security and privacy issues that may arise from using cloud computing were discussed, and many tips were provided on how to protect data and maintain confidentiality, emphasizing the importance of using modern technologies to ensure information security.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that cloud computing is one of the main drivers of technological development in the future, and that companies and institutions that rely on this technology will be able to adapt to rapid changes in the digital environment and take advantage of the opportunities it offers.
