Under the sponsorship of Professor Dr. Samira Naji Kazem, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Continuing Education Unit organized an awareness workshop titled “Introducing Students to the Culture of Mental Health and the Societal Risks of Negative Phenomena They Face”. The workshop was presented by Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, Assistant Professor Dr. Yusra Abdul-Sahib.

In the workshop, Dr. Yusra discussed the importance of psychological culture and how to recognize the mental health issues that students may face during their academic and social lives. She also addressed the societal dangers resulting from negative phenomena that students may encounter, such as bullying, violence, psychological stress, and addiction to social media.

The workshop emphasized the importance of raising psychological awareness among students and how to deal with stress in a conscious and healthy way. It also highlighted the role of the family and society in preventing these issues. Additionally, it stressed the importance of seeking psychological counseling and social support when facing any mental health challenges.

The workshop received a great deal of interaction from the attendees, with many questions raised about how to handle psychological pressures in academic and social environments. A number of tips and guidelines were also provided on how to take care of mental health and develop positive thinking skills.

The importance of organizing such events was emphasized, as they contribute to enhancing mental health awareness and moral support, while highlighting mental health issues during this crucial stage of students’ university lives.
