The Department of Biology Sciences organized a scientific workshop titled “Biofilm Detection Techniques” under the patronage of Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women. The workshop was held in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit and was presented by Dr. Imad Hamdi Jasim from the Genetic Engineering Institute, Dr. Jwan Sabah, and Ms. Sanaa Mohammed Habib.
The workshop aimed to highlight the significance of biofilm formation as one of the strategies used by bacteria and other microorganisms to resist antibiotics, detergents, and disinfectants. It also covered the most prominent chemical and molecular methods for detecting biofilm production by these microorganisms
