Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Women’s Affairs Unit organized a workshop titled “Women’s Health.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Naz Mazen Ali from the City of Medicine Hospital, Lecturer Nyan Fariid Majid, and Assistant Lecturer Rasha Saad Akram.

The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness among women about the importance of maintaining both their physical and mental health and to promote health awareness through a range of mechanisms and practices to be followed, such as regular check-ups, early detection to avoid cancer, pre-marital medical exams, monitoring women during pregnancy, ensuring physical and psychological comfort, avoiding anxiety and stress, and adopting a healthy lifestyle, such as early sleep, daily exercise, and avoiding sugar, processed meats, and fast food.

A discussion session was held to enhance health awareness and provide medical advice and guidance. At the end of the workshop, students from the Department of Medical Physics were trained on the use of ultrasound machines, a non-invasive diagnostic method that can capture static or moving images of the body’s internal organs. This imaging technique uses high-frequency sound waves and is part of the academic material taught to fourth-year students in the Department of Medical Physics
