Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Department of Physics at the college organized a scientific seminar in celebration of Entrepreneurship Week. The seminar was attended by the Head of the Department, Dr. Haider Yahya, the Department Coordinator, Lecturer Niyan Fareed, along with several faculty members and students of the department in the college’s conference hall.
The seminar included a lecture titled “The Role of Entrepreneurship in Maintaining Health,” presented by Dr. Heba Khudhair, Assistant Professor Nada Abdel Fattah, and Lecturer Noor Hassan. During the lecture, they highlighted the growing concept of wellness industries and their services, which have become an important part of global industries. The speakers emphasized that people are increasingly focusing on maintaining their health, leading to a rising demand for products and services related to health, nutrition, and self-care. They also outlined the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles to achieve a balance between the body and the mind.
The second lecture, given by Dr. Noor Yasoub, was on “Cold Plasma,” one of the innovative techniques in medicine. The lecture confirmed that cold plasma has great potential in treating wounds, sterilizing tissues, cosmetic medicine, tumor treatment, as well as treating many skin and chronic diseases, such as joint diseases. It was explained that this technique is safe for human tissues and can be tailored according to the medical condition, making it a promising technology for the future with continued research and development.
As part of the seminar activities, awareness and informative posters about entrepreneurship were displayed, designed by the department’s faculty members. These posters aimed to encourage youth to achieve their goals and ambitions, whether in the public or private sector, and to promote the idea of creating projects and innovative ideas. They also focused on the importance of self-reliance in achieving financial freedom and economic independence, through investing in scientific knowledge and keeping up with developments in the field of entrepreneurship and production. This is especially important as the department aims to create a productive, aware, and capable generation through continuous education and work, so they can face the challenges of the modern age and keep up with global innovations.
This seminar is a great example of how science and innovation can be integrated into the field of health and therapeutic entrepreneurship. It also demonstrates the role of the Department of Physics in highlighting the applications of modern science in daily life, enhancing students’ ability to succeed in various fields
