Under the patronage of Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Scientific Affairs Unit, organized a workshop titled “Protecting Women’s Rights in the Workplace: Labor Law and Social Security.” The workshop was presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salah Khairi Jaber in the conference hall, with the attendance of Dr. Shaima Saleh Mahdi, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit.
The workshop aimed to highlight women’s rights in the workplace and ensure their right to equal job opportunities, fair wages for the same work performed by men, and the right to a workplace free of discrimination and harassment. It also emphasized women’s rights to promotions and training opportunities that align with their skills and competencies.
The workshop discussed legislation that protects women’s rights at work, such as regulating appropriate working hours, maternity leave, providing a safe and healthy work environment, and ensuring adequate representation of women in leadership positions. This contributes to achieving justice and equality, benefiting society as a whole by increasing productivity and promoting sustainable development
