Under the patronage of Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation Committee in the Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation Unit and the Student Activities Unit of the college, organized a welcoming and awareness seminar for first-year female students on Tuesday, November 26, in the conference hall. The seminar was attended by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Students, the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Head of the Psychological Guidance and Educational Orientation Unit, the Head of the Department, the department’s committee members, and the Head of the College’s Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, along with faculty members and students from the department.
The seminar included remarks and instructions aimed at guiding the students to persist in their studies and strive for high achievements. It was emphasized that the field of computer science is one of the most important disciplines, playing a key role in supporting all fields, including scientific research.
Afterwards, a group of faculty members delivered an awareness lecture for the students on university life and how to develop skills, along with a lecture on artificial intelligence tools and platforms.
The seminar also included a general knowledge quiz competition to encourage a spirit of competition, exploration, and general knowledge among the students. At the end, the organizing committee expressed their thanks and gratitude to the students and all attendees for their active participation in making the event a success through their attentiveness to the topics presented and their interaction in achieving the desired benefit
