The master’s thesis, ” A Comparative Study of Chemical and Green Preparation of Mesoporous Silica as a Drug Delivery System” was the topic of discussion at the College of Science for Girls at the University of Baghdad. For Student: Sarah Kahtan Dawood
The thesis’s goal is to The purpose of the present study for surfaces that are highly applicable of adsorption, loading, and release of AM drug.
The study was done at the University of Baghdad’s College of Science for Women’s Chemistry Department in the laboratories of the College of Science for Women’s. In this study, two different methods were used to prepare mesoporous silica using the sol-gel method using sodium silicate (glass water) as a cheap source of silica. In the chemical method, the cationic surfactant (Hydroxylethyl,2-Hydroxylcetyl (2-Dimethyl ammonium chloride) was used. The Green Method Zyziphus Spina Christi (Sider Tree) tree leaf extract was used as a fine matrix. Then compare them by conducting different analyses, such as: measuring surface area using BET method and porosity using BJH, XRD, SAXRD, AFM, FTIR, SEM, and EDX.
The letter makes the following key recommendations:
1- Using different types of mesoporous silica to study the adsorption, loading, and release of AM drug from them.
2- Studying the adsorption kinetics and thermodynamic isotherms for another drug such as losartan.
3- Studying the adsorption behavior of AM drug onto other mesoporous materials such as Al2O3, TiO2 and ZrO2.
