The College of Science for Girls at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis tagged (Synthesis and Multifaceted Characterization of Novel Sulfamethoxazole Derivatives: Assessing Their Antioxidant, Antibacterial, and Corrosion Inhibition Properties)

Student: Samar Sameer Mansoor

The thesis aims to: The Study Objectives of this research is to comprehensively investigate the multifaceted aspects of sulfamethoxazole derivatives as heterocyclic compounds, focusing on their synthesis, biological activities, medicinal applications, and industrial significance, particularly in the realm of corrosion inhibition.

included in this study, which was conducted at the University of Baghdad/College of Science for Women /Department of Chemistry, Republic of Iraq, included The chemical modifications made to the sulfamethoxazole molecule are expected to yield compounds with diverse chemical properties. The significance of this research lies in its potential to contribute to multiple fields. By creating novel sulfamethoxazole derivatives, this study could provide a platform for the development of new antibacterial agents, antioxidants, and corrosion inhibitors. Furthermore, the comprehensive characterization of these compounds will shed light on their structural properties and behavior, which is vital for understanding their potential applications.

The findings of this study suggest that these novel sulfamethoxazole derivatives hold significant promise in the development of new treatments for infections and oxidative stress-related conditions. Further studies, including in vivo testing and mechanism elucidation, are warranted to fully explore the therapeutic potential of these compounds. and the student got an very good grade.
