Hassan.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"relative\"><div id=\"cz_97039\" class=\"cz_97039 cz_line tal\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"clr\"><\/div><div class=\"cz_gap clr \" style=\"height: 50px\"><\/div><div id=\"cz_81239\" data-arrows='{\"open\":\"fa fa-angle-down\",\"close\":\"fa fa-angle-up\"}' class=\"cz_81239 cz_acc clr\"><div><div id=\"cz_97517\"><span class=\"cz_acc_child\"><i class=\"cz-acc-i cz-acc-icon fa czico-052-three-2\"><\/i><div>Objectives of the Dissertation <\/div><\/span><div class=\"cz_acc_child_content clr\">[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The\u00a0 Dissertation aims to :<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The thesis was conducted to\u00a0 the primary productivity of algae (phytoplankton and benthic algae) and to study the physicochemical properties of the water.It also focuses on identifying the limiting nutrients for algal growth, understanding the factors affecting primary productivity, and analyzing the algal community composition and its seasonal changes.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div><div id=\"cz_69281\"><span class=\"cz_acc_child\"><i class=\"cz-acc-i cz-acc-icon fa czico-052-three-2\"><\/i><div>Content of the Dissertation <\/div><\/span><div class=\"cz_acc_child_content clr\">[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The study includes a research study on\u00a0 the assessment of the environmental status of Baghdad Tourist Island Lake through the estimation of the primary productivity of algal communities and the measurement of the physicochemical properties of the water. It also involves a quantitative and qualitative analysis of algal communities, including phytoplankton and benthic algae. Moreover, several key ecological indices were calculated, namely: diversity indices, the Iraqi Water Quality Index, the Environmental Risk Index, and Carlson\u2019s Trophic State Index<strong>.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div><div id=\"cz_65294\"><span class=\"cz_acc_child\"><i class=\"cz-acc-i cz-acc-icon fa czico-052-three-2\"><\/i><div>Dissertation Recommendations<\/div><\/span><div class=\"cz_acc_child_content clr\">[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The study concluded that\u00a0 Baghdad Island Lake revealed that the water exhibits good aeration, high hardness, and a tendency toward alkalinity. Based on productivity measurements and Carlson\u2019s Trophic State Index, the lake is classified as oligotrophic to mesotrophic, indicating low to moderate nutrient levels. Biodiversity indices showed a high degree of biological diversity, while the algal community displayed temporal fluctuations, suggesting that environmental factors play a significant role in shaping phytoplankton dynamics. These findings highlight the ecological significance of the lake and emphasize the need for continued monitoring and sustainable management.
