Objectives of the thesis<\/div><\/span>
[vc_column_text css=””]The thesis aims to identify the patterns of (CBC), serum electrolytes, D-dimer, ferritin, IL-10, IL-8, CRP, Procalcitonin, and kidney function parameters in neonates with sepsis compared to healthy neonates. The study also sought to identify the risk factors associated with sepsis and to describe its clinical manifestations. The ultimate goal was to explore the potential use of these characteristics as reliable biomarkers for the early detection of neonatal sepsis.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

Content of the thesis<\/div><\/span>
[vc_column_text css=””]The thesis also includes significant findings such as a significant increase in the levels of IL-10, Procalcitonin, white blood cell count, Potassium, D-dimer, and Ferritin, along with a decrease in lymphocyte percentage and Creatinine levels in the patient group compared to the healthy controls. In contrast, no statistically significant differences were observed in IL-8 levels between the two groups.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

[vc_column_text css=””]The study recommended conducting further research on IL-27, IL-6, and IL-40 as cytokines that may be associated with disease progression in suspected and confirmed sepsis cases, alongside investigating the correlation between CRP and cytokines as potential biomarkers. It also recommended comparing the levels of IL-8 and IL-10 in different types of infections, distinguishing between early- and late-onset neonatal sepsis, and studying the effect of treatment on these biomarkers.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>
