College of science for women\/University of Baghdad examined the thesis entitled (Investigating the effect of ZnO \/SnO2<\/sub> nanocomposite concentrations on its physical properties as a gas sensor)<\/p>\n

Objectives of the Thesis<\/div><\/span>
[vc_column_text css=””]The thesis investigated the antibacterial and antibiofilm effects of Lactobacillus plantarum<\/em>\u00a0crude extract (L.p<\/em>Ex) and its chitosan nanoparticle formulation (L.p<\/em>ExCsNPs) against clinical isolates of P. aeruginosa<\/em>\u00a0and S. aureus<\/em>. A total of 122 clinical specimens were collected from patients in Baghdad hospitals, resulting in 36 isolates of P. aeruginosa<\/em>\u00a0(29.5%) and 25 isolates of S. aureus<\/em>\u00a0(20.4%). PCR confirmed the identity of isolates using housekeeping genes (rpsL and 16S rRNA). Biofilm production was observed in all isolates with varying degrees of strength. Antibiotic susceptibility tests revealed high resistance in both bacterial species, most notably to Penicillin (100%) in S. aureus<\/em>\u00a0and Meropenem (63.8%) in P. aeruginosa<\/em>.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

Content of the Thesis<\/div><\/span>
[vc_column_text css=””]The thesis also includes using ZnO\/SnO2<\/sub> nanocomposite as a gas sensor application for two types of gases (H2<\/sub>S and NO2<\/sub>). The sensitivity, response time and recovery time were studied[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

[vc_column_text css=””]The final preparation showed that the ZnO\/SnO2<\/sub> nanocomposite with different concentrations including (50<\/sub>ZnO\/50<\/sub>SnO2<\/sub>, 70<\/sub>ZnO\/30<\/sub>SnO2<\/sub> and 90<\/sub>ZnO\/10<\/sub>SnO2<\/sub>) is sensitive to two types of gases (H2<\/sub>S and NO2<\/sub>) with different operating temperature (150, 200 and 250).[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>
