{"id":8470,"date":"2025-05-17T17:43:53","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T14:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=8470"},"modified":"2025-05-17T17:43:53","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T14:43:53","slug":"the-role-of-mirna-in-human-cancer-a-workshop-organized-by-the-department-of-biology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=8470","title":{"rendered":"The Role of miRNA in Human Cancer A Workshop Organized by the Department of Biology"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Department of Biology , in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized a scientific workshop entitled \u201cThe Role of miRNA in Human Cancer.\u201d The workshop was presented by Dr. Reem Mohammed Ubaid , Dr. Noorhan Subeih from the College of Biotechnology, Al-Nahrain University, and Ms. Tara Aso Tahir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop aimed to highlight the critical role of microRNA (miRNA) molecules in regulating gene expression within the cell, as well as their direct and indirect involvement in the development of various types of cancer. The session covered several key topics, including an introduction to the concept of miRNA, an explanation of its mechanisms of action within the human genomic system, and a discussion on how these molecules interact with genes that either activate or suppress oncogenic processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moreover, the workshop addressed the latest global research findings regarding the use of miRNA as a reliable biomarker for early cancer diagnosis.
