{"id":8060,"date":"2025-04-21T12:39:57","date_gmt":"2025-04-21T09:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=8060"},"modified":"2025-04-21T12:39:57","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T09:39:57","slug":"evaluation-of-gene-expression-and-polymorphism-of-mucin-1-and-4-with-polycystic-ovarian-syndrome-in-iraqi-female","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=8060","title":{"rendered":"(Evaluation of Gene Expression and Polymorphism of Mucin-1 and 4 with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Iraqi Female)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The College of Science for Women \/ University of Baghdad examined the thesis entitled (<strong>Evaluation of Gene Expression and Polymorphism of <em>Mucin-<\/em>1 and 4 with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Iraqi Female<\/strong>) of the student (Abeer Abdulhameed Faisal), in Partial Fulfilment of the Requirements for the Degree of Master in Biology \/ Genetics.<\/p>\n<p>The thesis was conducted to evaluate gene expression and genetic polymorphisms of the <em>Mucin-1<\/em> and <em>Mucin-4<\/em> genes in Iraqi women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).<\/p>\n<p>The study includes a research study on gene expression and polymorphisms of the <em>Mucin-1<\/em> and <em>Mucin-4<\/em> genes in Iraqi women with PCOS. This study was conducted in Baghdad and included 60 women diagnosed with PCOS and 60 fertile women with at least one child. The haplotype of <em>Mucin-1<\/em> and <em>Mucin-4<\/em> genes were also studied in women with PCOS compared to fertile women.<\/p>\n<p>The study concluded that there is a close association between genotype polymorphisms of several single nucleotides in the <em>Mucin<\/em>&#8211;<em>1<\/em> and <em>Mucin<\/em>&#8211;<em>4<\/em> genes with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). There is also an association between gene expression and disease incidence, as the gene expression of the <em>Mucin<\/em>&#8211;<em>1<\/em> gene showed downregulation in women with PCOS, while the <em>Mucin<\/em>&#8211;<em>4<\/em> gene showed upregulation in women with PCOS compared to fertile women. Study Linkage Disequilibrium recorded many haplotypes of <em>Mucin-1<\/em> and <em>Mucin-4<\/em> genes. The haplotypes of the <em>Mucin-1<\/em> and <em>Mucin-4<\/em> genes concluded that there are groups of haplotype polymorphisms transmitted as one block from mothers to their daughters, which could increase the susceptibility to PCOS. Finally, the study also recorded the relationship between the hormonal disorder and progresses the of PCOS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The final grade: Excellent <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;8061&#8243;
